Legality is always fundamental, even in the sporting field
“The tools for the presidium of legality and prevention of corruption within sports clubs and federations: Legislative Decree No. 39/2021.” This is the title of the panel discussion, sponsored by the “Foro Italico” University Foundation, held on November 6, which was also attended by Lottomatica Foundation.
Sports law was the main theme of the panel discussion sponsored by the “Foro Italico” University Foundation in light of the latest regulatory interventions on preventing and combating corruption in sports clubs and federations. The debate is part of the initiatives planned by the cooperation agreement between the Ministry of the Interior, the Center for the Study of Sports Law and Ethics of the University of Rome “Foro Italico” and the Lottomatica Foundation, signed last April, which aims to implement a common action for the development of the culture of legality.
The panel discussion was organized with the intention of outlining an overview of the available tools, codes of conduct, organizational and management models-mandatorily marked by compliance with the principles of loyalty, probity and fairness-and touched on a variety of points and sides of the issue. Among them are: general principles on the liability of sports entities and the Supervisory Board, organizational models at the sports level, sports torts and gaming, prevention of corruption in publicly controlled companies and private entities subject to the application of corruption prevention and transparency regulations.
Numerous speakers enlivened the debate including the Rector of the University of Rome “Foro Italico” Attilio Parisi, “Foro Italico” University Foundation President Fabio Pigozzi, Maria Lodovica De Caro of the Ministry of the Interior (Department for General Administration, Civil Administration Personnel Policies and Instrumental and Financial Resources) and the President of Lottomatica Foundation Riccardo Capecchi( click here to view poster of the initiative).
