{"id":275,"date":"2025-09-26T16:11:13","date_gmt":"2025-09-26T14:11:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/fondazionelottomatica.test\/lottomatica-foundation-in-support-of-sweet-arms-the-project-of-isola-tiberina-hospital\/"},"modified":"2026-05-20T16:56:53","modified_gmt":"2026-05-20T14:56:53","slug":"lottomatica-foundation-in-support-of-sweet-arms-the-project-of-isola-tiberina-hospital","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/fondazionelottomatica.officine06lab.com\/en\/lottomatica-foundation-in-support-of-sweet-arms-the-project-of-isola-tiberina-hospital\/","title":{"rendered":"Lottomatica Foundation in support of \u201cSweet Arms,\u201d the project of Isola Tiberina Hospital"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"font-size: 16px;\">On Thursday, Sept. 25, a collaboration was formalized between <strong>Lottomatica Foundation<\/strong> and <strong>Isola Tiberina \u2013 Gemelli Isola Hospital<\/strong> in support of <strong>\u201cSweet Arms \u2013 The Cold and the Warm Together to Help Little Ones and Their Parents in the NICU,\u201d<\/strong> a three-year project (2025-2027) that combines <strong>technological innovation<\/strong> and the <strong>centrality of the family<\/strong> in the care of the most fragile infants.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-size: 16px;\"><strong>An answer to a neonatology challenge<\/strong><br \/>\n\u201cSweet Arms\u201d was created to address <strong>Hypoxic-Ischemic Encephalopathy<\/strong>, a condition that affects 3-4 infants per 1,000 live births. Therapeutic hypothermia, if started early, can reduce the risk of severe neurological damage, but it requires <strong>advanced equipment<\/strong> and <strong>highly trained staff<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-size: 16px;\">For this, the project integrates the purchase of new technologies such as the <strong>CritiCool system<\/strong> for therapeutic hypothermia and <strong>a video electroencephalograph with h24 teleconsultation<\/strong>, with dedicated training paths for doctors and nurses and with a <strong>psychological support<\/strong> service aimed at the families of children admitted to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-size: 16px;\"><strong>Objectives and innovative approach<br \/>\n<\/strong>The project is based on <strong>three main strands<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li style=\"font-size: 16px;\"><strong>technology enhancement<\/strong>;<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-size: 16px;\"><strong>Staff training<\/strong> on IFCDC (Individualized Family and Infant Centered Developmental Care) skills;<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-size: 16px;\"><strong>support for families<\/strong> through a dedicated counter, also available online.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"font-size: 16px;\">The approach is inspired by the principles of <strong>parental continuity<\/strong> and so-called <strong>\u201cZero Separation\u201d<\/strong> to ensure a care environment that reduces newborn stress and promotes the psychological well-being of parents.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-size: 16px;\"><strong>Lottomatica Foundation\u2019s commitment<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-size: 16px;\">Thanks to the Foundation\u2019s support, Isola Tiberina Hospital can strengthen its role as a <strong>point of reference for neonatology<\/strong> in Central-Southern Italy, combining <strong>technological excellence<\/strong> and <strong>attention to the person<\/strong>.<br \/>\nThe shared goal <strong>is twofold<\/strong>: to <strong>improve the clinical outcomes<\/strong> of the most fragile newborns and to <strong>offer concrete support to families<\/strong>, including those in situations of social vulnerability or addiction.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-size: 16px;\">With \u201cSweet Arms,\u201d <strong>Lottomatica Foundation renews its commitment to health<\/strong>, <strong>prevention<\/strong> and <strong>social cohesion<\/strong> by supporting initiatives that combine <strong>scientific innovation<\/strong> and <strong>solidarity<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-9d6595d7 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\" style=\"font-size: 28px;\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-vertically-aligned-center is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\" style=\"flex-basis: 100%;\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-group\" style=\"font-size: 26px;\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-group__inner-container is-layout-constrained wp-block-group-is-layout-constrained\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p style=\"font-size: 39px;\">\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>On Thursday, Sept. 25, a collaboration was formalized between Fondazione Lottomatica and Isola Tiberina &#8211;
