The first edition of the FINE<\/strong>(Family and Infant Neurodevelopmental Education<\/em>) course, a high-level training course dedicated to neurodevelopment of the premature infant and family-centered care, has officially kicked off at the Isola Tiberina \u2013 Gemelli Isola Hospital<\/p>\n

The initiative is part of the three-year \u201cSweet Arms\u201d project<\/strong> (2025-2027), supported by Lottomatica Foundation<\/strong>, with the aim of integrating technological innovation, specialized training and family support in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU).<\/p>\n

FINE training: advanced skills for neonatal intensive care.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The FINE course represents an international training standard and promotes a model of care that focuses on the relationship between the infant and his or her parents<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The program involves a multidisciplinary team composed of neonatologists, nurses, midwives, psychologists and rehabilitation therapists, united by a common goal: to ensure increasingly attentive and personalized care<\/strong> for young patients on Tiber Island.<\/p>\n

Through the training of health care personnel<\/strong> and the application of updated protocols, the project contributes to a hospital environment that is increasingly geared toward the protection of the infant\u2019s neurodevelopment and the psychological well-being of the family.<\/p>\n

The launch of the course is an operational step in the \u201cSweet Arms\u201d project,<\/a> which combines technology enhancement, medical training and psychological support for families of hospitalized infants.<\/p>\n

The three-year program, already launched last year, aims to consolidate the role of Isola Tiberina \u2013 Gemelli Isola Hospital<\/strong> as a point of reference for neonatology in central and southern Italy, promoting an integrated and innovative model of care<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The approach is based on the principles of Family Centered Care and \u201cZero Separation,\u201d encouraging the active participation of parents<\/strong> in the care journey and reducing neonatal stress in the first days of life, a particularly delicate phase for premature infants or those with complex clinical conditions.<\/p>\n
