Notes of an adventurous reader ” (Solferino) written by journalist Giovanni Floris.
It is entitled “The essential. Notes of an adventurous reader“(Solferino) and is the latest book written by La7 journalist and host of the Dimartedì broadcast Giovanni Floris. The essay was presented on the occasion of the debate organised by Lottomatica Foundation on Thursday 21 December, at the American Studies Center, Via Michelangelo Caetani 32 in Rome.
The event was introduced by American Studies Center director Roberto Sgalla and Lottomatica Group CEO Guglielmo Angelozzi. In conversion with the author was the historian and director of the Luiss Guido Carli School of Government Giovanni Orsina, moderated by Tg1 journalist Maria Soave.
Floris’ new book traces his career as a journalist and presenter of the programme Dimartedì, his experiences, professional and personal choices that have always been accompanied by a chorus of authors and fellow readers with whom he has shared discoveries and reflections. Through the titles of great classics, novels and poems, the author presents a unique perspective on how books can enrich our lives, guiding us through the various stages of a reader’s life.
The presentation of “The essential” fits right into the strand of cultural and scientific initiatives conducted by Lottomatica Foundation during 2023, which include, for example, the research promoted together with Censis on the theme “Women, work and sport in Italy“, the report entitled “Italians and climate change” by Maurizio Ferrera and Percorsi Secondo Welfare and the research-intervention project to promote social cohesion at school and counter discrimination promoted with the European University of Rome. Yesterday’s debate follows the one that featured Professor of Administrative Law at the University of Rome, Luisa Torchia, author of the book titled ‘The Digital State,’ published by Il Mulino (here are all the details related to the event) in recent months.
