The project “Digitalmente attivi” kicks off

The national traveling project “Digitalmente attivi” designed and promoted by the Longevitas Foundation and the Lottomatica Foundation, kicks off from Pescara, with the aim of enhancing digital literacy among people over 65.

The Digitalmente attivi project was presented on Friday at a press conference at the Pescara City Council headquarters, thanks to the initiative of the Assessor for Golden Age Policies, Valeria Toppetti, and with the participation of Miriam Severini for the Longevitas Foundation, as well as the collaboration of the University of the Third Age in Pescara.

A project to break down digital barriers

Digitalmente attivi will involve five Italian regions, including Abruzzo, along with Lazio, Umbria, Marche and Tuscany, through hands-on courses to be held in social centers, associations and dedicated spaces.

In Pescara, the first training event will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 26, at 9 a.m. at the Palazzo della Provincia (Piazza Italia, 30). Other events will follow in several Italian cities, including Rome La Romanina (Nov. 27), Rome San Basilio (Nov. 29), Perugia (Dec. 7) and Ancona (Dec. 11). Each meeting, lasting 4 hours, will include 2 hours of interactive workshops, with the aim of providing participants with practical tools to use digital devices such as smartphones and tablets with greater ease, thus improving daily life.

The project aims not only to enhance digital skills, but also to raise awareness of online safety among the over-65s, with a focus on preventing digital scams, a fast-growing phenomenon.

Digitally Active is an opportunity to break down digital barriers, providing older people with new opportunities for connection, growth and protection, contributing to a more inclusive and safe society.
